This poem was written in memory of Vern as Mike held his hands the night before he left us.

A Hand That Cares

 Hands are used for many things

We feel and touch with hands

We shake a hand as we greet

And help others with a helping hand

We hold the hands of a loved one

To show them that we care

We put our hands together

When we talk to the Lord in prayer.

Then you hold the hands of a loved one

As with him you begin to pray

And you feel the love within his touch

As he slowly passes away.
